Nook is such a comfy word. It makes me think of curling up in a corner at a coffee house while sipping some soothing hot cocoa with whipped cream, or maybe even a toffee macchiato in a nice easy chair while writing something or another by the fireplace. How’s that for visualization? However, that’s not the nook that I’m referring to in this article; although it’s a comfy cozy spot, Nook is also a den for the gastronome right in the heart of downtown Tuscon, Arizona.

Nook serves New American cuisine, which simply means they take good old American meals, or elements thereof, and zhuzh them up into new fan-dangled fancified fare.
It’s elegantly casual. It’s polished and convivial, and it’s open and nooky all at the same time. Warm red brick walls are the backdrop against a settle-in setting of boothless booths, open floor and bar seating. There’s also outside seating with an urban garden-style feel, so take your pick!
Our team of travelers sat at a boothless booth, where we ordered from their brunch menu.
There are cinnamon roll griddlecakes, Huevos Rancheros, tamale pie, and various “eggs benedict” offerings, but remember all of it is all zhuzhed up!
Take the Honey Chipotle Carnitas Benedict, for example. (Way too many words!).
It layers a crumpet with crispy pork, wilted spinach, poached eggs, and hollandaise.

Then there’s the tamale pie.
It is made with house-made sweet masa, fire-roasted chilis and cheese, and two eggs. Yes, this fancified fare is fantastic, but you can also simply order pancakes, eggs, and bacon too. They have those kinds of options as well.

The restaurant also serves lunch with vegan offerings, burgers, and other handhelds. And of course, you can find salads and seasonal desserts. Check out the Nook menu for more information.
